If you are a regular reader, and I’m told that there are at,least two of you, you may’ve noticed the highlights mentioned in the first article (most amazing finding, impressive sighting, best nature photo, most lenient fuzznics, tastiest food, my wow photo of the trip, & most phenomenal action photo) have been covered. All those articles are at CoconutTimes.com. I still have many incidents, episodes, and fun stuff left from my meanderings during my Adventure 2011 through the warm parts of our country including Florida, Texas, Arizona, Las Vegas, southern Utah and places in between. I’ll continue to tell my stories the way it happened and give a webpage or reference where you can find more info. This week I’m going to write some praddle (a word from former WBAL’s Allen Prell of Alie Elf fame), so you’ll know a little more about where I’m coming from, and use some photos that didn’t fit in previous articles but are outstanding.
    If you ever hear I’ve finally been confined to a rubber room and they’ve thrown away the key, this’ll give you a clue to why! Have you ever thought inanimate objects are against you? Of course this stuff doesn’t know what it’s doing to drive me bonkers, but I’m sure the gremlin in my computer has trained them all, because it’s the chief culprit! All this stuff seems to know what I’m trying to do and has taken up the opposing side declaring, “No, that ain’t gonna happen.” Ever notice all the wires from that digicompu stuff plugged into that mammoth surge protector are all twisted and entangled together? You or I didn’t do that when we plugged all that stuff in. How do you think it got that way?  They did it themselves, and why when I need pennies when I’m at the cash register do they hide and cling to the bottom of my change purse? When you try to get something done can’t you hear whatever you’re using screaming, “No, No, No.“ Are they against you, too! I just set up a FaceBook page for my business, PHOTOS As You Want Them. I want it to be search engine findable, but do you think it is? No. I guess there’s a FB gremlin too. I see others are Google searchable though. Why not mine?
    Here’s a couple things to ponder:  Have you ever seen a sea gull’s nest or a baby sea gull? I haven’t. Show me one and I’ll buy you an ACB at HH. Why do so many people where black clothes in the heat of summer. Black absorbs heat, light colors repel it, so why wear black? Same goes for black cars. Why would anyone think three-wheeled mopeds and buses can get along safely in the same lane?!?! Why do men’s shorts extend below the knees, but females are still as short as they can be?
    I’ve been reading about the future of photography. They say future cameras will look more like smart phones than today’s top end SLR cameras, which have hit their technology limit. Can’t imagine photographing a family on the beach or a wedding with a camera that looks like an ipod!  No, I don’t think so. They also say we’ll all be storing our data and photos in the clouds and our program applications will be there, too! I’d rather have them here where I can see them. Backups on disks and hard drives work for me, but I am interested in TV on the InterNet and get rid of that cable company.
    A lot of my values are based on notions like these: "Find a Bargain or find a job."-  Who wants to work for a living?  "Don't Fix What Ain't Broke"-  If it works, let it be! "Change is good or New is better”  Yeah, I know we have a president that got elected because of thinking like that. No, he didn’t get my vote!  Change & new stuff needs to be time tested and proven. The three things I do best are:  shut up, get out of the way & do nothing. Years ago I paid off my mortgage as quickly as possible and became debt free making my travels possible.
    I’ve been asked “Don’t you get lonely traveling alone?” No, I enjoy it and I see enough of people. My travel style is to sleep where I can see nature performing when I first step out my nest (Capri slide In camper on a Ford F-150 pickup), that has all the conveniences of the tent I used for years, not of home, but is portable. My nest was created following the KISS (keep it simple stupid) principle. It works for me, but if there were two in that space, they better really like each other.
    Here in OC my family photos on the beach customers are my #1 priority and they all get personal attention. I eat mostly natural foods and cook them myself. The best local source of vegetables and fruits is Birches on Rt. 611 and they now have local sweet corn. It goes wonderfully with steamed crabs that are abundant this year.
    I make a Cheap Eats & Drinks List that contains lots of specials in OC and a Best of OC List that includes businesses that treat me right. There’re lots of Coconut Times advertisers on both. There’s also a list that I put my favorite places I visit during my winter meandering on. That I call my Don’t Miss List.
