Fager's Island presents a special farewell performance by Crowded Outhouse featuring John LaMere, Chris Button, Joe Mama & Jeff Davis Monday night.
    Boy Howdy Music Fans!
Now’s the time to scratch that cabin fever itch. Ocean City generally offers lots to do this time of season! Outside venues are everywhere and ready to rock!
Fager’s Island Deck Parties are back! Each Monday at 5pm, this tradition becomes reality. The famous Fager’s on 59th Street presents DJ Batman at 5pm, DJ Groove at 9pm and inside it’s Crowded Outhouse. This is significant because John LaMere is moving back to NY and this is likely the last you’ll see him for a while. John’s gotten himself quite a following over these last years so expect a rockin’ party! Next Monday, look for Tranzfusion. Dont forget the Pabst Blue Ribbon on special each Monday. My  kinda place! No charge for lousy sunsets.
Macky’s is back in town! A bayside party mecca; open air style, is back open for ‘09! Lookin for real fun? The Fastest Bartender competition begins Wednesday, 6/3. The next two Wednesdays decide the winner; The King and Queen of 54th Street! This is a Coconut Times sanctioned event, so come out and play!
Micky Fins in West OC at The Fishing Center is open and serving up a great view, a new breakfast buffet and great music on the dock! Look for Irish music Sunday with James Gallagher and Off the Boat. Next Saturday, Pompous Pie takes the stage (5/16 at 5pm).
The Worcester County Autistic Children’s support group holds its 6th annual Jam at The Greene Turtle West (Rt. 611) West OC on Sun. 5/17 from 1-5 pm. Area musicians love to come out and play with an impressive list of bands, door prizes, silent and live auctions, 50/50 raffles and All American buffet lunch are all on tap for only a $10 donation. Family, friendly fun, folks feeling good!
Springfest is here already, so kick around downtown this weekend and take in the sights, sounds and tastes of Ocean City and don’t forget to call your Mom on Sunday!
Look for Pompous Pie back at the Plim Plaza, Fri. May 8 (tonight!) at 7:30 pm. Another year in the sun! Saturday, May 9, we’re uptown at the The Crab Bag on 131st St., 9pm. We’ll be at Micky Fins May 16 and May 20, 5-9pm, and May 23 we’re back again for a ‘dock’ party at MR Ducks, 4pm.
Till next time Jah!!! – Marco Ink
P.S. Here’s a few words from the nice folks at the American Cancer Society (R.F.L)
ANNUAL RELAY FOR LIFE BRINGS PEACE-LOVE-HOPE
On Fri., May 8, through the early morning hours of Sat., May 9, Frontier Town Campground will once again come alive for the 12th annual American Cancer Society’s “Relay For Life.” Relay For Life is a team event that celebrates survivorship, remembers and honors loved ones who have lost their battle to cancer and fights back against the disease. Relay For Life actually begins each year in Jan. with members of the community assembling their “teams” and raising money and awareness to fight the disease of cancer. “What is so wonderful about Relay is that everyone of all ages can be involved in the event. When you arrive at Frontier Town on Friday night at 6pm and see senior citizens, survivors, parents, young adults and children all walking together in memory and celebration of loved ones who have suffered, it is simply an amazing experience,” says co-chairwoman Dawn Hodge.
Over the past 11 years the Relay For Life Northern Worc. Co. has raised and contributed over $1 million to the American Cancer Soc. The goal this year is to raise $185,000 and to have 65 teams participate. For more information contact Dawn Hodge, 443-497-1198 or dawnhodge@comcast.net.
