Come to Micky Fins Saturday, September 12, to hear the incredible tribute show from David Stone - The Johnny Cash Experience.
Boy Howdy Music Fans! Thanks to everyone on hand last Sunday at Coins Pub. The patrons, sponsors, organizers, and musicians made the benefit for our friend Kathy Gorerra a big success. The local public came out in droves to help one of their own. Thanks also to Buxy of The Salty Dog for helping to provide some much needed satellite parking since the rest of 28th St. was all maxed out! Full Circle, Tim Landers, Wes Davis, John Heinz, Steve Martin, Pompous Pie and many more came out to entertain the standing room (barely) only crowd. When asked for their help these folks could only say “What Time?”
This Saturday be sure to look for David Stone’s ‘The Johnny Cash Experience’ at Micky Fins. Located just off of Route 50 at The Ocean City Fishing Center. Micky’s is featuring this exciting Cash tribute for the first time. Davis Stone is a convincing man in black with an expertly tailored song list and full Cash wardrobe. Micky Fins is busy all next week with Bike Night Monday - a pre cursor to next week’s Delmarva Bike Week. Live music every evening, great food and drink specials and a spectacular view are what Micky Fins is all about! Also new this year, Micky’ will be open year round! See ya Sat. 9/12 for Cash!
It may be a bit premature to get on the subject of Bike Week but experience tells us that this event attracts Harley riders long before and after the 4 day ‘official event’! Smitty McGee’s on Rt. 54 celebrates bike culture all year round. Ponzetti’s Sports and Biker Bar on 145th St. supports the bike public all year, plus Ponzetti’s makes the locals favorite pizza in uptown OC. The 707 Sports Bar in West OC on Rt. 707 is eagerly gearing up for Bike Week. This spot is a great stop for the road weary rider to wash down some trail dust!
M.R. Ducks, right on the water at the Talbot Street Pier in downtown OC is always a favorite of bikers, boaters and anyone else looking for a fun spot with a great view! Fish Tales on 21st St. and the bay at the Bahia Marina has long been a friend to Bike Week. Try a shot-ski and something tasty from the Fish Tales galley!
Here’s some summer highlights from my personal ‘best of’ reel. Fresco’s on 81st St., the best veal chops ever! Breakfast any day at The Rio Grande Pool Bar complete with Bloodys and Mimosas; top drawer! Huge, hot and heavy steamed Blue Crabs from the Crab Bag on 131st St. Don’t forget the rest of their extensive menu with a little something for everyone. The best clams casino on the Shore can be found at BJ’s on the Water on 75th St. Look for great sizzling steaks, seafood and a tempting sandwich menu! The Hawaiian pizza at Ponzetti’s on 145th St. is ever satisfying for the late night munchies. OK, I’ve now made myself hungry, which do I pick?
Don’t forgert to go out and have some fun in this 2nd season. If this weather ever turns a little more pleasant, we can expect a strong turn out in Ocean City this September.
Look for Pompous Pie at the Carribean Pool Bar at The Plim Plaza Hotel at 2nd St. on Friday at 7:30. We’re at Micky Fins a whole bunch next week and MR Ducks on 9/18!
Til next week, Tah!! – Marco Ink
