Boy Howdy Music Fans!
    Happy Holidays from one and all here at Coconut Times! We’ve been busy here in our ‘workshop’ compiling our year end issue to keep the Shore informed. New Year’s Eve 2009 should prove to be interesting on a Thursday night. A banner weekend is the prediction all about O.C. New Year’s Day is only the start of a few more days off for many people!
    Admittedly, it’s a bit hard to concentrate on writing when my mind is awash with scores of Tiger Woods jokes! Of course none of us really need to hear any more about that!
    Look to Beach Music on Rt. 611 in West OC for that special gift of the musical type. Great guitar packages for the beginner come with everything included and provide hours of entertainment and knowledge. A large variety of stocking stuffers like harmonicas, pedal effects, cool music shirts and accessories of every design and music lessons also provide a potential lifetime of fun and interest. Talk about the gift that keeps on giving!
    It’s sure been a tough schedule of Christmas party hopping but someone has to do it! Special thanks to Galaxy 66, Coins Pub, BJ’s on the Water and our own fearless leader here at ‘The Coconut’, Brenda Golden. Our music holiday at Seacrets was a nice casual get-together.
    I did get a chance to pop in on James Gallagher and Off the Boat last weekend at the  Seacrets’ Tiki Bar. The boys were in full kilt attire dishing out those signature Irish sing-alongs. It was almost like a hint of Summer in December for me!
    As I pen my column it’s time to gear up for The Twelve Bands of Christmas at Seacrets in de club! I’m psyched for Fuzzbox Piranha, Agent 99, Paul Lewis, Lower Class Citizens and many more (at least 8) more! In retrospective mode, I hope I saw you there!
    Almost limitless options await the New Year’s Eve partier in Ocean City! If a sit down meal and show are what you seek, look to a package deal for the evening and dig your heels in. If you like to move around a little more, there are plenty of spots with no cover, no minimum for your hopping pleasure. Don’t forget that bus, cab, limo or designated driver to arrive not only in style, but safely and in one piece. Plus being arrested is no way to start the New Year! So please don’t drink and drive!
    The Full Circle band is showing off their talents and stylings at Coins Pub on 28th St. on 12/31 at 9:30 pm. Their rich vocal act with a female flair is a popular one around the Shore! No Byscuyts, our own local jazz/funk party quartet, is appearing at The Shark in West OC on Sunset Ave. for the big night. Always a good bet, the boys of No Byscuyts offer universal appeal and a flavor all their own! The Shark is also offering a top shelf meal you won’t soon forget! BJ’s on the Water features D.J. Fast Eddie on N.Y.E. Eddie is sure to keep the crowd rocking at this popular midtown (75th St.) hot spot!
    The band of Pompous Pie rocks The Crab Bag on 131st St. on 12/31. Come on in for some bluesy, rock, surf, rock-a-billy, punk and funk! Show time is 9pm all the way till 3am!  We’re also in Lusby, Md., at Jake and Al’s on 1/1/10 and The Brick House in Shadyside, Md. on 1/2/10.
