This Just In: The Purple Moose Saloon, located on the boardwalk in downtown Ocean City, will feature Quiet Riot on August 14. Reliving hits like “Bang Your Head” and “Cum on Feel the Noize,” this line-up of new and old members is ready to rock. The Purple Moose also has Poison’D on tap for Thursday, June 23, for a double dose of Poison and Motley Crue tributes. More glam rock on the calendar this summer includes Kix on June 30, and Journey tribute band Odyssey Road on August 4.
    Seacrets kicked off its 2011 Summer Concert Series this week with a free performance by Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad with Jesse Chong. The reggae vibe carries on Monday, June 20, when Mishka with Anuhea will take the stage in the club for an additional free concert. Buy tickets now for Little Feat with the Roy Jay Band on Wednesday, June 29. SOJA returns to Seacrets on Monday, July 11, and Donovan Frankenreitter performs under the beach tarp at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20. The Aggrolites with Lionize are booked for a free concert in the club on July 25, and Tribal Seeds with Roots of Creation and Seedless are slated for Tuesday, July 26.     Meanwhile, this weekend at Seacrets brings Storm to the stage on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights, Love Seed Mama Jump on Saturday night, and Full Circle at 5 p.m. on Sunday. Innasense will get irie on Thursday, June 23, and throughout the following weekend.
    Steer Inn Tavern next to the Casino at Ocean Downs on Racetrack Road in Ocean Pines is bringing the local talent this weekend. Check out Loud Love on Friday night and the Mood Swingers with Lauren Glick on Saturday night. Remember that the Java Bay Café at the Ocean Pines Yacht Club is open to the public and boasts a newly expanded deck and beach area. Over Time Band performs at Java Bay Café on Friday, June 17, at 7 p.m., and Me & T plays at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
    A fabulous martini bar, Jive, features live music by Rum Riley on Friday and Time Police on Saturday. M.R. Ducks has a stellar lineup this week. Front Page News performs at Friday, Over Time Band on Saturday, Bird Dog & the Road Kings on Sunday, and local celebrity Jim Long on Tuesday, June 21. Also, enjoy the lively pub atmosphere at Johnny’s Pizza Pub on 56th Street when Deep Sea Creations entertains the crowd on Saturday night at 9 p.m. I also want to give a shout out to my buddies, Tim Cyphers & Danimal, who’ll rage on the bongo drums at De Lazy Lizard on Friday and at Micky Fins on Sunday.
    My friends and I have been gathering frequently at local pool bars. Coconuts Beach Bar & Grill has been going off the Richter lately. This week, dance to Darin Engh & Joe Mama on Friday, the Randy Lee Ashcraft Duo and Kevin Poole on Saturday, and Crowded Outhouse on Sunday.
