Tranzfusion, the boys of classic rock, return to M.R. Ducks Sunday.
Boy Howdy Music Fans! Welcome to the official summer season here at the beach. The nasty and unpredictable weather here would not generally indicate that it’s a week from July! The sun has only been our part-time friend here of late. Patience is a virtue but it can also wear thin.
We the people here in the home of the brave and the land of the free are blessed with a vast number of choices in almost every facet of our lives. This is due to pure capitalism and different products offered to the consumer. It’s no wonder so many are burdened with too many decisions. Did it start with the 31 flavors at Baskin Robbins or the multiplex movie theatres. When selling breakfast food on the boardwalk years ago, our waitstaff from Ireland only understood two kinds of eggs - fried and scrambled. They’d never heard of over easy, medium, hard, sunny side up, poached or 20 kinds of omelettes. The Starbucks offered us coffee served forty different ways. Decisions, decisions! Would you like that pan fried, deep fried, broiled, grilled, sauteed, poached or blackened? Sometimes it seems like one needs to be a product of higher education to order a meal and a drink. To order just vodka isn’t enough for most people nowadays. Would you like (deep breath) raspberry, vanilla, orange, lemon, blood orange, espresso (single, double or triple), ruby red, cranberry, pomegranate or sweet tea? We’re so spoiled with all of our choices, in fact, that we tend to confuse many of our work forces from other countries. It’s hard for them to fathom that we could have this many choices. Since we are a resort town attempting to accommodate visitors from all over, we try to satisfy the tastes from every region. Only in America can you pick from 20 kinds of chicken wings and 20 kinds of sauces. Only in America can you pick from 110 kinds of cell phones! The choices that really matter are somewhat limited. On principle you can vote Libertarian or Green Party, if you like, but this is undoubtedly futile. Your choices are limited to Republican or Democrat. The selections seem pretty narrow by comparison - let’s see, left or right; (hmmm) I can’t decide!
Thanks to BJ’s on the Water (75th St) and The Full Circle Band for such a great night on Sat. Kathy, Gary, Dave, Michelle & Jeff rocked the place with an exciting song list and undeniable energy. Thanks for getting T. Lutz and myself up for a few songs. Fun, fun, fun! Look for The Moodswingers with special guest Lauren Glick at BJ’s this weekend 6/26 & 6/27 for a blues infused good time at 9pm both nights.
