Bourbon Joe was in this weekend. The man’s got the best seat at the bar. For those of you who don’t know Joe, just go up to Brian’s bar and look for the best spot. You’ll meet our Bourbon Joe. Eddie was back looking great. It’s always good to see him is his usual spot. Eddie has the greatest smile, and ladies, he has the best dance moves. He doesn’t do it often, but when he does, Eddie just glides across the floor.
    The always fabulous Paulette and Toney were in, doing what they do best-dancing with each other. If I didn’t know better, I would say they were newlyweds. The new sounds of the Ocean Club has the dance-floor packed. New speakers are in and the bands and DJs are rockin’ ! Next on the list are lights and video. I’ll be sure to keep you posted. Just when you think things can’t get any better, they do.
    The Ocean Club is very much alive and well on 101st street and the beach. See you all here any given night after the clock strikes 9.

    Soon, the hot days of summer will be here. I know everyone is ready. And come the end of August and 60 days of sunny days, all of this will seem very refreshing. How does that sound?
    Dr. Betsy was in town with MB and Sophie. It was wonderful to see them. Mrs. H joined them for lunch. Betty Ann is winding down her days here. I am happy to say she is soon to be self-employed, but not at the beach. Our loss, but there will soon be a new bar & restaurant somewhere over the bridge. Jean and Joe were here over last weekend. Along with Mavis, they always light up the room. I just wish they were here more often.
    Buck and Barbara were in with Tom and Yvonne, and Paulette and Tony were missed. My girls are finally out of school for the summer so look out for two young, cute, blonde young ladies with an ever cuter black yorkie-pooh. I’d like to give a shout-out to all our guests at the Ocean Club. It’s great seeing Eddie back in action. But we are still missing Eunice.
    Danny and the boys are back playing on the beach, and Power Play is makin’ music in the Club. It’s life great!

    Let’s hear it for all the June bugs. Everyone has definitely arrived with even a few cars still celebrating the return of the class of 2008. I’m thinking they never actually left from last year, they just woke up! Everyone is always welcome, so keep’um comin’.
    I want to give a big shout-out to the beach, deck and grill crew this summer.  The “coming out” of Lauren, Andre, Paul, Joanne, Jillian and Jamie, the return on Ben, Jake and PJ, the arrivals of Cat, Emile, Chuckie, Brandon, David, Blake, Anna and Tore, and of course, the Captain and first-mate, Chuck and Mickey. Ask them about the “drink mine” contest.
    We had a great jam session this week with Arizona. Judy, Eddie, Dennis, Dave and Terry all brought their guitars and harmonica and joined the band for five hours of solid music. It was a great time. Bands now are every afternoon on the deck from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and in the nightclub every night from 9:00pm to 2:00am.
    Marty and Dawn were in town this past weekend. Chris and Jamie came by to say “Hi.” Dan and Bob were here as well to surprise everyone. It was a fantastic reunion for everyone. The weekend was perfect; and I hope yours was as well.

    What a beautiful weekend we had. And just think, it wasn’t that long ago we were all wondering if the rain would ever stop. What do they say about the weather in OC? Something about waiting 15 minutes?
    I understand both dear friends of mine, Eunice and Eddie, are recovering beautifully, but are still greatly missed. I would also like to congratulate the newlywed couple, Lisa and Larry. Their wedding and reception were described to me by a major food critic as “Magnificent!”  You can hardly beat that. Our DJ, Dusty and his wonderful fiancée, Kara, are exchanging wedding vows this Sunday… our congratulations to them.
    The new outdoor pool is a big hit. All of our hotel guests are vying for the lounge chairs closest to the hot tub. Now that is the way to relax on vacation: check-in, get your pool chair, have a server bring you frozen strawberry margaritas, splash in the pool, get in the hot tub, close your eyes and tap your feet to the music from the band.
    Tony and Paulette were in this weekend dancing to the sounds of Arizona. I heard Bea was so fabulous belting out some Janis that a guest actually thought it was Memorex. Way to go Bea, although we all know you can carry a tune! Happy Anniversary to a very beautiful couple who just celebrated their 47th. You are half-way there!
