As promised, a little more about Cezar, the man who I always thought was from Poland, but come to find out his roots are somewhere in the eastern part of Romania. Where you ask? Where women hide and shadows come to prey on the innocent, the virgins, and warm blooded creatures. And as for my good friend Cezar? At night he can be seen driving his cab through ocean fog, up and down Coastal Highway, looking for a fare. Need a ride? He comes highly recommended!
    And now on a more mundane note: there was a birthday cake delivered to table 61 on Saturday night. I don’t think I need to say more than that. Yvonne and Tom had an anniversary, but I couldn’t fit all the candles on the cake, so they had Irish coffee instead. Jutta and John were in this weekend. It is always wonderful to see them. Mary Jane and Dick were back for another Saturday night out with friends.
    The very stunning Paulette and Tony were kicking up their heels on the dance-floor. They always have such a great time when they are here. The smiles never leave their faces from the time they give Ms. Trudi hugs and kisses until they say good-night. Hazel has been in trying to get Rick to open up…good luck there.
    And the beat goes on, with the best sounds in Ocean City, right here at the Ocean Club where the big kids always come out and play.

    Where have the good times gone? Well, for those of us lucky enough to live in OC, the good times never leave. For those who are fortunate enough to come to the beach year round, the good times are always here, and for those who only make it down here in the summer, the good times are just about gone! With Labor Day right around the corner, we can definitely say it was a great season.
    A few shouts to some of our favorite bands – in particular to Danny Dolan and the guys from First Class, to Manny and Bea and the rest of Arizona, that would be Lee and Tony. Another round of applause goes to New Censation and Power Play. All great bands; all great sounds. Let’s not forget Katrina Love and Synergy and Smitty and On the Edge. Let’s give a shout-out to Dusty, our house DJ. The man keeps you all jumpin’ when the bands aren’t pumpin’!
    Now for the really important people, the fans. You all have been incredibly loyal, and just a bunch of “wild and crazy guys.” To mention just a few: Barbara and Buck, Eunice (my very favorite red-head), Wanda (who plays Ethel to our favorite red-head) and Kathy (OC’s Citizen of the Year), Jackie and John (Loyal to First Class), Yvonne and Tom, Sue and Mike, Eddie, Bourbon Joe, Lynn and Jim, Paulette and Tony. You and all our guests both in The Ocean Club and Lenny’s Beach Bar & Grill are the reason we do what we do and can smile when we do it. Thanks…and have another great week in OC.

    The hot days of summer are upon us. Grab your sunscreen and head for the beach at 101st street. We’ve got the cold drinks, great food, incredible bands, two pools, a beautiful beach, and the Atlantic Ocean all within arms reach.
    The Welcome Wagon came to greet Ruthie and Bob, Jennifer and Bill, Katie, Will and Matt. What a way to start their annual family vacation. Joey was here all week, front and center of the bands. The man loves to dance and sing…with little encouragement from Danny and the guys of First Class. Jill and Kevin were here all week with their two boys. They are growing up so fast!
    Mavis was in for dinner with Jean & Joe and Lynn & Ken. It is always a great time when the whole gang comes in. Vera is planning a trip to DC. She is really looking forward to seeing all the sites our capital city has to offer. Maddie is having a wonderful time visiting with her family. From the “Mile High City” to sea level can be some vacation. We all wish she and Jackie would come to visit more often.
    A very big shout-out goes to Andrea, Maria and Sylvester. They have been a pleasure to have here this summer and Chuck hopes they come back next year. And then there is Caesar and the stories. After all these years, I find out he is really from northeast Romania. I find that very interesting! More on that subject to follow. Enjoy your week in OC, and come be seen where the big kids play!

    Where has the summer gone? It’s already August and I have not even made it to the beach. What’s wrong with this picture? Actually I am saving myself for September. The “second season” can really be the nicest. Something for all our visitors to think about.
    I got the impression from Danny and the boys that some of you were buying, and some of them were abiding! Now that was a perfect match! Cindy & Roy and the rest of “New Censation” will be on stage the rest of this week. You don’t want to miss them; they put on a great show. My dear little friend and writer, Miss Maddie, arrived this week. I am sure she will be gathering some valuable information to include in her next story. I hope to sit down with her while she has dinner one night – not only does Maddie write stories but also dabbles in poetry. Her Mom is so proud of her.
    Ben was out fishing this week. It’s too early to tell how he did, but for Ben it was a chance of a lifetime, so yea, Ben, you are a winner. I encouraged everyone to go to the weigh-ins. It‘s just another incredible Ocean City adventure- one you will not experience anywhere else.
    Dorothy and Gene, Dick and Mary Jane were in for dinner this past week. It was great to see them. They were the anchors of the tennis club at East of the Sun, and have been wonderful friends over the years. That’s what so nice about living in a resort like Ocean City, the same great people keep coming back, year after year.
