My very favorite red head was in last week with her good friend, whom I refer to as Ethel. They are the closest I have ever seen to the original pair. Eddie was spotted in the Ocean Club as well. Joe was there with Brian feeding me my favorite candy while Ms Trudi supervised. I’m not sweet enough and Ms. Trudi is already sweet.
    Wishes for a speedy recovery go out to Tom, but all the prayers go to his nurse, Yvonne, for taking care of him. From what I hear, Yvonne is in the drivers’ seat and she’s wearing ear plugs. No back seat driving there. Charlie & Sally and Bob and Ruthie were staying with us last weekend. It is always great to see them. Barbara and Ann came in to dinner this week. They were in town for the christening of their grand-daughter.
    It was a good week at the Ocean Club…familiar and new faces. What more could I ask for…welcome Memorial Weekend friends and travelers.

    With Memorial Weekend a week away, everyone is anticipating a great summer season. Palm trees are in place, the eager summer staff is anxiously awaiting the crowds, and the rest of the locals have their seat belts on. OC is looking better than ever!
    A sure sign of summer at the Ocean Club is the amazing sound of Arizona. Special shout-outs go to the new and expecting parents from the Ocean Club family. Lisa and Larry recently welcomed a beautiful baby daughter, Lilly. Stephanie and Carter, Kara and Justin and Jessica and Lee will all be caring for babies this summer. This will be a first for Stephanie and Carter, both proud and ecstatic already. For Kara and Justin, and Jessica and Lee, it is still as thrilling as it was the first time. We wish all of them a lifetime of happiness. If you see baby pictures while you are here, it has to be from one of these beaming new parents. You don’t even have to ask; you will know who they are.

    The palm trees have arrived! The final touches of summer are here. Now we all wait. If the sun is shining, they will come. We are ready.
    Servers, bartenders, barbacks and bussers are swarming the town, looking for their new local hang-out. The sounds of First Class, Arizona, Power Play and New Censation will be heard on the beach and in the Ocean Club. Suntan lotion is the fragrance of the season. And with all of that Tom is another year older. He and his wife, Yvonne will be celebrating with Barbara and Buck. Tom has finally regressed to the age where 1 candle is all you need on the cake.
    Scottie, Jamie, Christina and John have finished with school. A big shout-out goes to Therese who is here visiting Meredith. I know the visit will be the first of many. Another shout goes to Xeniya. Xeniya is one of the newer members of our team, and the one with the biggest smile. Make sure you say Hi to her when you come into Horizons. She is our hostess.
    There will be more new faces and more shout-outs as the Ocean Club gets geared up for the summer of 2010!

    There is so much going on and some many familiar and new faces I don’t know where to start. Not only is there a Joe Z, but now there is a Joseph Z in town. They are getting ready to open up a new place in town, but they did take some time to come over to the Clarion. I hope to actually get away for a night and give them a visit. Roland and his wife were in for dinner this weekend. Seeing them here is a sure sign of summer.
    My other favorite red head was here this week, Hazel. I only had time to kiss and run, but Hazel is always a friendly face. My dear friend, Mavis, was in for lunch over the weekend. Unfortunately, Mavis has been spending more time across the bridge than on this side. She has been missed. Mavis was in with her daughter Lynn and her niece, Gail. Scottie is getting ready to graduate from Salisbury in a few weeks. Welcome to the real world, Scottie – no more sleeping in, going unshaven, and playing hooky. Every day is a working day, and vacation time is soon to be limited.
    Chuck, on the other hand, just celebrated his 21st birthday. I am sure there were fireworks going off somewhere, just hopefully not in Snow Hill! One more hits the fast lane. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
