Did I miss June? It feels like we went from Memorial Day to the middle of July! The weather has been perfect for the beach. Hot! Hot! Hot! I don’t want to jinx us by mentioning the R word, but a brief cool down at early morning sounds pretty nice. No more on that tropic, let’s just enjoy it.
    Katie was celebrating her sweet-sixteenth birthday in Horizons this week. Surrounded by family, cake and presents is what every young woman should ask for. Happy Birthday, Katie! Tom and Yvonne were spotted in the Ocean Club this past weekend….they actually spent most of their time on the dance floor. It was great to see them back in action…great Dancers, great couple. Speaking of which, Ms. Trudi and Eddie were taking a few spins as well.
    Joe. Jr. was seated next to his Dad Saturday night for a Father’s Day nightcap at the Club. Nice to have them both in at the same time. Good wishes go out to my favorite red-head. The North Bar is not the same when she and Ethel are not there. I’ve decided to give a very special someone some yellow caution tape to keep with her at all times. It’s not so much a fashion statement, or that she is really dangerous, but more as a warning that an accident is about to happen. Keep your foot on the breaks when she enters the room!
    This was just another great week at the Ocean Club!

    It was another busy week at the Ocean Club Nightclub ….birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, family reunions, and just a lot of friends out having fun in Ocean City and having a great time right here at the Ocean Club… Shout-outs go to my dear friend, Marsha, who stopped by to relax and unwind after work. Marsha, as always, looked stunning! Justin had a birthday celebration. He was surprised that his beautiful wife, Kara, could pull it off. She did, with no problem!. Sushil also had a birthday and was here with his beautiful wife, Violet, his brother, Neil, and his lovely wife, Doris.
    One of our favorite band leaders, Danny, was joined on stage by his daughter, Shannon. She is every bit as talented as her father. JT was also back with First Class this week. Great to see him performing again. John and his gorgeous companion, Jutta, were in with friends for a night of dining and dancing. And my dear friends and neighbors from the Atlantis, Jean & Joe and Ken & Lynn and their friends from North Carolina were here for an evening of great food, excellent wine., good friends and a lot of laughs… a perfect night out.

    Early June, and it feels like early July. It is definitely going to be a great summer… the beaches will be full, the restaurants and clubs will be busy, and everyone will be having a great time! What more can you ask for… maybe an Indian summer.
    The Ocean Club was jammin’ all weekend. Arizona was the band and Bea was taking pictures like a tourist on Hollywood Boulevard. I think she was putting something together for the Sundance Film Festival… just kidding Bea! Violet and Sushil were in for dinner and stayed for the band. It is always great to see them. They are definitely one of our signposts for the opening of the season. Cait had a birthday this week; now she is older, wiser and prettier, but not necessarily in that order.
    Danny and his First Class band are appearing on stage and on the beach. It is great having the guys back for a few weeks, playing both venues, inside and out. Paulette and Tony were in this past weekend, another beautiful couple who can light-up any room with their smiles. I think Chuck has finally calmed down from celebrating his big 21st. Have another great week in Ocean City, and when you are at the Ocean Club, stop by and say, “Hi.”

    Memorial Weekend…and no rain! Summer is off to an excellent start. I have a feeling we are going to have warm sunny days and cool comfortable evenings, with just the right touch of ocean breeze… the perfect recipe for an Ocean City vacation.
    New faces are everywhere you turn… the seasonal help is in place; all our new and good friends will be down visiting, and the aromas of aloe and piña coladas are in the air. Yvonne and Tom were M.I.A. Tom is still recovering and Yvonne is behind the wheel. Mavis was down for the weekend with her daughter, Lynn and her niece, Gail. Jim, and his wife, Lynn, were also here with their daughter, Jen, visiting from N.J. Wally, Joe and Eddie were at their regular spot at the North bar. Joanne had a special birthday on Sunday and Jamie got a promotion.
    Now that’s the way to start the summer ... And it’s only going to get better!
