As always summer just zooms by. We think about it, plan for it, Memorial Day comes and before you know it, we have crossed the finish line. It was a great season – one of the hottest and driest ones I can remember.
 After a two week absence, my two favorite U of DE football fans are back for some dinner and dancing. School is back in session and my other two favorites are back in uniform, doing homework and campaigning for Michael James. Karen & Mark, and their children, Alex & Anthony were down for the weekend. It was great seeing them. Aaron was in town visiting Michelle. I’m glad they stopped by. I missed Aaron the last time they were here, so this visit was especially nice. Brooke was here with his growing family to see Ms. Trudi.
 It was a good week – the weather was great, friends were in the Club, and the forecast for Sunfest is sunny and beautiful. 

 Rev your engines, put on your shades and helmet, and get ready… it’s Bike Week!... Oh, did I forget the ear-plugs? Welcome to Ocean City. We love having you here; I’m speaking for all of us want-a-be bikers.
 Shout Outs go to Pat & Ed, Beverly & Allan, and the anniversary couple, Betsy & Blaise. Congratulations to Joanne who will be the new politico reporter for the Coastal Dispatch. We all wish her very best and looking forward to seeing her one day on Hard Copy. A lot of Shout Outs go to Julie, Kathy’s sister, who was celebrating a milestone of a birthday. Julie looked absolutely beautiful, like Kathy, and must now start carrying her ID. She has finally crossed the 21 yard line! My favorite Red Head, Eunice, was in this weekend with her side-kick, Ethel, I mean Wanda. They are a whirl-wind of fun and more fun. I love you both, and mean no disrespect!
 I would like everyone to say Hi to our two new faces at the Ocean Club Nightclub, Blake and Earl. You will see them serving in the dining room and providing cocktail service in the Nightclub. It’s great to have them here… and on that high note, I leave you with two reminders: Halloween Party, Saturday, Oct. 30th… don’t come dressed as yourself; 49th St. Ocean Club Reunion Party, Saturday, Nov. 6.  

    So much for Uncle Earl. As it turned out we had a beautiful Labor Day Weekend. All and all, the summer was perfect beach weather – Memorial Day through Labor Day. Ocean City is the best.
    Still no word from the expectant parents, Kara and Justin. When the little one comes, I’ll let you know, but not until the baby cries. Our bartender, Scott, is celebrating a big one this weekend at the North Bar…all I’ll say is it rhymes with “more” and has a zero at the end. Happy Birthday Scott.
    Jen was in this weekend visiting Mom & Dad. It was great to see her. And the red hair looks great.  Kathy was spotted at our Ocean Club bar. It is always so nice to see her. Her smile just lights up the room! Eli and Sharon were visiting us over the holiday weekend … speaking of smiles lighting up a room. Their son, Kyle, was supposed to join them, but job trumps vacation every time.
    Chuck is busy gathering pictures for the 49th St. Ocean Club Reunion Party on November 6th. Talk about walking down Memory Lane … we have pictures of Danny Dolan before he started to shave… the rock star looks like he was 18 when First Class made their inaugural appearance on the stage of the Ocean Club. You absolutely don’t want to miss that party! See you there. Also, start to think about your Halloween Costume. Party Night is Saturday, October 30th!

    Memorial Weekend was beautiful, 4th of July was beautiful, and for Labor Day weekend, crazy old Uncle Earl is coming to visit! Who invited him? He does not get a shout out from me! On a brighter note, my good friend from neighboring Delaware celebrated a birthday with us on Saturday. It was a great occasion, even if the cake was not as chocolate as I thought it was.
    A big shout out goes Kara and Justin as their wait is finally over. As I write this bar hopping article, they are packing the over night bag and headed to the delivery room. The little one was in no rush to be born… it sounds very cosmic, and they say, timing is everything. Congratulations to the whole family… finally! Nancy celebrated her birthday this week, with homemade cake by Melissa for everyone. Two very special friends of mine celebrated their wedding anniversary on Saturday. They are keeping it low key, but it was a special dinner with special friends.
    The 49th St. Ocean Club Reunion Party is getting closer. November 6th… mark your calendar. Have a great week, and if you run in to crazy Earl, tell him to keep movin’.
